Miracle Theatre presents The Garage Sale

On Now!!!
The Garage Sale (Miracle Theatre)

I’m thrilled to be performing in Miracle Theatre’s production of David King’s comedy The Garage Sale!

March 26 – April 19, 2026
Prince George, BC
I’m playing Phil Grady, who is going through a mid-life crisis as he tries to wrangle his dysfunctional family into helping him sell their possessions and make radical changes to their lives. It’s both funny and poignant — and I’m having a blast!

My Own Private Shakespeare was given a single performance at McDonald’s Corners’ MERA to a full and appreciative audience.

Plosive Theatre’s production of Alan Ayckbourn’s Private Fears in Public Places at The Gladstone in Ottawa from June 18-28.

Justin is playing the role of Ambrose.

Over one weekend in April 2025, I led a bilingual Shakespeare workshop on Coriolanus with the Arabic Theatre Company. Working with a talented group of actors, we explored how shifting between Arabic and English could highlight themes of power, identity, and emotional truth. The workshop culminated in a series of recorded scenes, offering a powerful glimpse into the potential of multilingual performance.

A Christmas Carol

“Justin Hay captures the definite essence of Bob Cratchit, a man who wants the best for everyone. …Bob is also a human being with emotions and Hay wonderfully reflects this reality in his performance. He experiences exhaustion, sometimes feels defeated, and carries the heavy burden of worry for his ailing son, Tiny Tim. It was heart-wrenching…”

Joe Szekeres – Our Theatre Voice

“Justin Hay stands out with a beautifully gentle Bob Cratchit, continuing the tradition of subtle reinvention…”

My Own Private Shakespeare

“…a remarkable fusion of intellect and vulnerability”

Billy Chapman, Billy’s Substack

“Baring his soul and using the plays Macbeth, Hamlet, Othello, Lear, Richard III, and Caesar, Justin gives us one of the most simple and honest sharings of a life that I have had the pleasure of attending.”

David Walters, The Front Row Center, New York

“Hay provides one of the best performances I’ve seen at the Fringe so far. The script is pure brilliance, and the passionate delivery will blow you away.”

Amy Rye, Lost in Theatreland, Edinburgh

“As I remember the scene he did between Lear and Cordelia I would almost swear there were two performers on the stage…The acting is magnificent.”

Sam Mooney, Mooney on Theatre, Toronto

Saskatchewan: An Aspirational Polyamorous Adventure

“It’s the gentleness of Justin Hay’s writing and the sensitivity with which the six-person cast make their way through the material under Hay’s direction that brought me through the show’s initial awkwardness toward falling in love with its optimism.”

Karen Fricker, Toronto Star Critics Picks

“Hay has constructed a very amusing farce that clicks because the characters are so clearly defined. He’s also directed the play so the cast feels comfortable and believably part of their romantic arrangements.”

Glenn Sumi, Parton and Pearl

“Justin Hay’s writing is fresh, and the arrangement of the friends is handled with style and humour.”

Lynn Slotkin, The Slotkin Letter

Hymns and Hearse

“Jeffrey’s story about how he lost his mother when he was 25 is quite poignant, and Hay delivers the story with tenderness and real emotion.”

Glenn Sumi, Go Ahead Sumi

“Justin Hay in particular has a natural delivery and clear backstory that makes his fussy, fastidious character seem real.”
